Our green Hotel Kristall

The beloved South Tyrol is not only anchored in our hearts, because we may call it home. It is also simply a beautiful spot of nature. And we want that to stay that way.

That’s why we focus on conscious and ecological sustainability – the 3-star Hotel Kristall uses renewable energy. In the colder seasons, the in-house firewood boiler ensures cozy warmth. Powered by biomass, it heats the premises and the water. The boiler works in balance with nature, since the amount of CO2 emitted when burning wood is the same as in the natural decay in the forest.

For power generation, we use solar and photovoltaic panels installed on the roof. On the plateau in Meransen with about 280 days of sunshine a year, the sustainable use of solar energy is essential.

All in all, with our South Tyrolean hotel we use up to 75 percent renewable energy – for the benefit of nature, for the benefit of our guests!
